On Mondays throughout Hilary Term, the Oxford Centre for Christianity and Culture is hosting a series of interdisciplinary conversations which aim to shed new light on the unfolding migration context: ‘In-Migration: Cultural and Theological Dialogues on the 21st Century Movements of Peoples’.
In each session, a speaker will make a key input on an aspect of migration, to which scholars associated with the Centre will offer a response informed by Christian theological reflection and/or practice. Details of the next seminar are as follows:

*Dr Elena Fiddian-Qasmiyeh is Reader in Human Geography and Co-Director of the Migration Research Unit at University College London (UCL), where she is also the Coordinator of the UCL-wide Refuge in a Moving World interdisciplinary research network (@RefugeMvingWrld). Her research focuses on the intersection between gender and religion in experiences of and responses to conflict-induced displacement, with a particular regional focus on the Middle East and North Africa.

Pat Brittenden is a DPhil candidate in the final straights of a part-time field study exploring the impact of Christian teaching and learning on the Muslim-background church’s development (mission) in Algeria. Having grown in Algeria, studied Arabic and Islamic Studies as an undergraduate and Applied Theology as a postgraduate along with serving in theological and pedagogical midwifery in the emerging churches of Algerian and Tunisia, he is currently the holder of the OCCC scholarship (studentship).
Dr Minlib Dallh is a Research Fellow for the Study of Love in Religion at Regent’s Park College; his research interest includes a comparative approach to the mystical traditions of Islam and Christianity with a focus on medieval and early modern female mystics in both traditions.
