Great to hear Dr Deborah Rooke on BBC Radio 3 last week, discussing the concept of sacrifice in the Old Testament with The Revd Richard Coles, during a BBC Proms performance of Handel’s ‘Jephtha’ at the Royal Albert Hall.
Dr Rooke, Lecturer in Hermeneutics at Regent’s Park, is an accomplished musician whose research encompasses the themes of ritual and cult, and the use of Old Testament texts in Handel’s oratorios. The Radio 3 discussion was hosted by New Generation Thinker, John Gallagher.
